Overview
This program aims to provide a broad education and training in modern business profile, suitable for a wide range of students in key areas of banking and finance management and other allied disciplines. It prepares students to think critically and find new ways to improve the industry. Students learn to communicate effectively on all levels and acquire leadership skills in the banking industry to become an initiator of change by making complex and difficult decisions using modern finance, marketing and management analysis methods.
Graduates will gain:
Knowledge of the nature and structure of the modern business organisation, the nature of enterprise; the role of profit and the critical managerial functions that contribute to the total operation of a business.
Knowledge, understanding and skills necessary for the planning and development of an organisation’s human resources (HR); and how they contribute to organisational objectives and requirements.
Understanding to enable them to discuss the major decisions areas and the important concepts used in financial accounting and management.
The ability to internalise the principal concepts, frameworks and techniques of strategic management as a backbone for generating options for strategic business judgment.
Sufficient capacity to satisfy strategic planning needs of enterprises to achieve their marketing objectives.
Understanding of micro and macro-economic principles and theories and apply them to solve complex real life situations.
Knowledge and understanding to carry out and act upon self-appraisal and reflective thinking, in the areas of creativity, teamwork, leadership and problem solving in a business setting.
A foundation of professionally-specific skills and knowledge, on which to base the process of continuous professional development.
